The ACLU and EFF's victory over causeless searches of phones and laptops at the US border is a great step in the fight for digital freedom.

Database migration to new hardware is complete and so far things look pretty promising. We'll be doing further migrations over the next few days, but hopefully the root cause of the recent disruptions is now solved.

A good opportunity to highlight the decentralization of the protocol :)

Netflix #DRM finds yet another way to limit your choices: older Samsung and Panasonic "smart" televisions and Roku devices will no longer work with the Netflix app. We weren't kidding when we said that DRM makes software and devices defective by design.

Attention Matrix developers: Matrix Client Server API r0.6.0 and Identity Service API r0.3.0 is out. These mainly incorporate the MSCs which went into the privacy/GDPR related work over the last few months - has the gory details :)

We did it! We came together as a community and met our fundraising goal to defend software freedom from patent litigation.
