OK, I got the strangest spam message today. It was someone asking if I performed liposuction, and claiming to want to book a consultation for their mother. I don't really understand what their scam is. Are they actually hoping to get responses from people who do perform liposuction? I can't imagine that they'd get very many responses, as a percentage of the number of messages they send out. But I guess sending spam is cheap. Or are they hoping to verify active email addresses from people responding and saying that they don't perform liposuction? It just seems like a really strange spam message to send.
Election day in Ontario today. Unfortunately, it looks like we're going to be stuck with the same government, or even a slightly worse version (stronger majority).

In an effort to combat this, I built a website that lists projects looking for new maintainers. It's still quite empty and has some rough edges, so any feedback is very welcome.

I'll only be sarcastically interested in what Nextcloud has to say about "self-hosting for individuals", considering they imo have pivoted toward enterprise users in recent years. I would prefer to hear from an (f)easily maintained, agile web/cal/cardDAV solution over those guys.
Today I have played 3 hours with my pen&paper group over a native #FluffyChat video call. The connection was super stable all the time. It will be coming as a opt-in experimental feature in the next release 🤗

FSFE haven't changed the name of the organization. What did they actually change, aside from virtue signaling?
They are still a European foundation that promotes software freedom. Changing a name is not a minor thing. They are not collaborating with the FSF.

@Bubu I don’t think that’s true. I heard a talk pimping #Matrix at #FOSDEM years back, and I remember because I was a bit repulsed that a pro- #Cloudflare org was getting talking time there. It was the same year that #DuckDuckGo abused a time slot to advertise their #Microsoft-driven service.
it's not the first time they've had timeslots for talks, it's the first time there is a dedicated matrix devroom.
